About Me
I grew up in Western Washington, between Puget Sound and the Cascade mountain range. As a kid, my biggest interests were music, theatre, and girl scouts, which greatly shaped my creativity and love of the outdoors. Then I took a chemistry class in high school and I was irreversibly hooked on science as well. Later, my Identification and Classification of Land Plants course in college began my great love for plants.
Outside of work, I hike and backpack, listen to comedy and actual play D&D podcasts, knit and cross stitch, watch awesome TV shows, read the best YA literature, run long distances, and spend time with my family and friends. I love to travel nationally and internationally when I get the opportunity. I also enjoy reading and talking about mental health, regulation of genetic engineering, and popular science.
